Shoe Fettish

So, my two year old has a shoe fettish. Well, more specifically, he has a mommy who thinks that little shoes are so cute and thus has created this fettish. Since he has so many shoes, the Little Man needs to keep them all straight, so they have been given names:

Climbing Shoes

Jumping Shoes

New-red-crocs-with-mickey-mouse-lightening-mcqueen-a duck-and-a-bee sometimes all in one breath and sometimes shortened to 'red crocs' - of all things!

Regular Crocs

Running shoes

How big is Squeaker?

Soooooo BIG!

And, sometimes when he is just sitting there, we'll hear a squeal, look back and he has his hands over his head - playing "so big" by himself -- how CUTE!

By the way, we are taking bets on first steps. My guess is July 31st. Anyone else have a guess? If you need a little context, here is a picture take yesterday of him standing and so proud of himself. :)

Watch out Picasso

Here comes our Little Man.

Mommy: Hey, would you draw me a picture?
LM: Sure, Mommy, what do you want me to draw for you? (seriously, that is what he said)
Mommy: How about you draw me a person.
LM: Sure, okay.
Mommy: First we need a head (lm draws a head)... then eyes... a nose... smile... how about ears? (LM draws each part as they are named)
Mommy: Okay, how does it look? Are we missing anything?
LM: Yes, a chin (draws a chin)
LM: Oh, and ears
Mommy: But you already gave him ears.
LM: We need more ears
Mommy: Okay then... how about hair instead.
LM: No, hair AND ears.
Mommy: okay!

By the way, HAPPY 3/4ths BIRTHDAY, Squeaker!

I am SO not ready for this

Here is a picture I took of Squeaker a few minutes ago. Sorry they are so blurry and hard to see, it was on my camera phone and I was trying to spot him as he scaled the bed. This was on the second attempt. I was putting the Little Man to bed for his afternoon nap, when I felt slobber on my arm... how the heck did Squeaker get saliva up that high? Well, when I looked over, he was almost over the top rail of the bed. YIKES! I had no idea I had to watch him THAT closely!!!!! Apparently, when you turn 9 mos at our house, you turn into a monkey. :)

Better Luck next time

Happy Anniversary to us - 7 Years! WOO HOO!
Mommy and Daddy attempted a date night... movie and dinner... but the boys had other plans. We had a wonderful girl come babysit for us and we left our numbers in the event that the Squeaker caused some problems for her. Unfortunately, she had to use the numbers. :( Poor guys and poor babysitter. The evening ended for Mommy just before the climax of the movie (good thing she has already read the book and knows what happens). Came home, held squeaker, and he is immediately quiet and happy, turns to look at the babysitter and smiles at her -- the STINKER!!!!! The Little Man was already in bed, and a little teary as well, but mostly because of peer pressure I am pretty sure.

On another note, here is an adorable video that a friend told me about from Shutterfly:

Growing teeth

The Squeaker is responsible for any lost sleep in the past few days. Last night was the worst. he was up like 5 times and each time it was a screamfest! we fnally were able to get him to sleep in our bed, and once asleep, we proceeded to make the transfer to the crib. Let me just end by saying that when we woke up at 6:30zm, Squeaker was in our bed. :) Can't wait for those 2 top teeth to come through. It must really hurt! Poor little guy.

in the midst of chaos

he stands. the squeaker has decided that he would like to, at every possible moment, stand on his own. It is only for a couple seconds, but that is where it starts.

still on vacation, just had to report the news!
