So, usually if the little man doesn't want to leave to run errands, I often use bribery to make our exit a less dramatic affair. On most occasions, our errands include a stop to see Lily (the little man's playmate) so it is easy. However, I have to listen to "ee-ee" the whole car ride. 'ee-ee' = Lily, by the way. For example, "Let's go run some errands and see Lily!" Followed by "ee-ee, ee-ee, ee-ee...." until we reach Lily's house.
The other great love in the Little Man's life is the lawnmower. This is a powerful word in our house. You can even get a child to eat a much dreaded green bean (gagging the whole way) by just the mention of the word lawnmower.
This morning, as Lily was out of town, and we had errands to run, I was out of luck in the bribery department. Our errands included Home Depot, however... I was in LUCK! Guess what they have at home depot -- LAWNMOWERS!!! So, here is how our morning went... "Do you want to go run errands with Mommy?" "No." Oops, coulda seen that one coming. OK, try again. "Let's go run errands in Mommy's car!" "No." Okay, third time is a charm, right??? "Hey, Little Man, let's go to target and home depot." "Lawnmower?" For goodness sake, the child remembered that Home Depot has lawnmowers!!! So, the whole ride to home depot was... "lawnmower, wheelbarrow, plants, paint, lights..." He just rattled off everything he could remember from the aisles. What a smart little guy! He makes us so proud!!! And, maybe he will be more handy than his parents given such early exposure??? We can only hope!

ok, you don't post for 10 days and then twice in a row??
SO CUTE about the lawnmower. Little man is a man after Mr. H's own heart. Hopefully Biscuit shows similar aptitude.
