Slacker Mommy
There have been so many things I have wanted to post, but I have been so tired/worn out that I have done nothing. I will try to post some video of the Squeaker's new tricks in the morning, but if I don't, please harass me until I do!

I missed it!
The Squeaker has been really close to rolling over from his belly to his back for about 2 weeks. He just couldn't figure out where to put his arm. So, today, I laid him down on his tummy on his blanket and ran to the bathroom. When I came back he was on his back, eating his feet. Hmmm... guess he figured out where to put his arm today and I missed it! So sad for me. I am confident that if I stare at him for a day and a half, he will be sure to do it again, at least once, right?

The Little Man goes to the Dentist
These pictures don't even do the event justice. It was sooooooo cute and he was soooooooooo good, I wish I had the energy to type up a long list of descriptives to go with this post, but instead you get soooooooooooo many pictures! :)

In like a lion
The phrase "in like a lion, out like a lamb" is usually referring to the weather. Although this may be true around our neck of the woods (the weather, that is), it is also holding true for our little Squeaker. This month started out being an awful cryfest surrounding sleep and really anything not involving mommy. However, we seem to be moving away from that now. It is the middle of the month and we are on a good stretch. I know I might have just jinxed myself, but really, he is doing pretty well. He is happy (thanks to his new medication) and can even put himself to sleep on his own on occasion. He sleeps about 11 hours at night (woo hoo, yippee, yeah) and has started to nap almost on a regular schedule (assuming our schedule allows for it). I hope that this progress continues and that we do indeed go out like a lamb. It sure puts us all in a better mood, especially mommy!

Tattle Tale
When do kids stop tattling on themselves??? It is almost 3pm and I am listening to the Little Man on the monitor. He has chosen Thursdays as official "no nap" days... and of all days, this is the worst one for not napping. He keeps reporting over the monitor:
"Mommy, I am sitting on the dresser"
"Mommy, I made a mess with my water"
"Mommy, I took my bandaid off"
"Mommy, I made a mess in my room on the floor"
And on top of that, I hear him jumping on his bed as I type... "bounce, bounce, bounce" he says.
Too bad we have gym class tonight, guess daddy is going to have a FUN time. :)
And, I swear I didn't give him robitussin, orapred, or anything of that nature today!

Party time
This morning we turned a corner. Granted, we still have a few steps left before we are done, but this is a big step. As I was busy convincing the Squeaker that yes, in fact, he did want a nap, the Little Man came barging in with this news:
"I went poo-poo on the potty... all by myself!" and he proceeded to do a little dance/jig.
I gave the Squeaker a little reprieve and joined the Little Man in his dance, showering him with compliments and happy thoughts. Oh Happy Days.

Blue Flavored*
When you ask a 2 year old what flavor ice cream he would like, be prepared to find it in the first freezer case you look in. You will then be required to follow up with your decision to let him choose the flavor and you had better hope you brought a large pack of wipes with you.
Today was such a nice day! It has been wonderful and I am pretty sure I deserve it after our 'wonderful' weekend.

AUGHHHHHHHHH
Actually, maybe it is more like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEE??? It is a very loud scream. I am not sure if I am going to be able to convey my frustration in any other words... especially that I would have time to type. :) So, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
I am hoping that this week goes better than this weekend went, and I can't imagine that it wouldn't, it really can ONLY get better! Long story short, our weekend consisted of lack of sleep, refusing to eat, screaming (not mommy) and lots of carpet cleaning. It was a fun fun weekend! I will spare you the details, but suffice it to say, I am pretty sure it can't get worse. I am so confident, I am not going to knock on wood. Hope you had a more pleasant weekend!

Backsliding a bit
Well, we were on 5 days of good progress... and boom! Just as Ga-mommy predicted, backslide. It is just after 12 noon and I am pretty sure we haven't had a successful potty trip yet today. I have a host of things to blame it on, but for now, we are going to take a minute and stick some laundry in the washer (despite having JUST finished it yesterday) and figure out what to do next. Both the boys are sleeping, thankfully. Mommy needs a minute to herself that doesn't involve cleaning up #1 or #2. Hope to give a better report tomorrow.

YIPEEE
We managed to have an 'accident' free day and all non-sleeping related pottying has been in the potty!!!! (if that makes sense) Had to post this before our big boy underwear day tomorrow.
Progress Continues
Diaper free for 2 days and now the Little Man is going independently and just letting us know that we need to give him his mini m&ms. The amazing little guy has even managed to overcome the hurdle of going #2 on the potty. Even when he is wearing a diaper, he asks for help to go on the potty. Do we think this will last??? Who knows, but we have one more full day of a diaperless tooshie and then we'll see how we do with his big boy underwear!!!
On another note, the Squeaker has become quite fond of Mommy for all soothing needs. This is partially due to the fact that The Little Man seeks out Daddy on most occasions, so that leaves Mommy for most Squeaker duties (which she doesn't mind AT ALL :)) This has become a slight problem, in that the Squeaker would rather scream with all other potential soothers (adults and pacifiers) than relax into a peaceful slumber. Daddy has been working hard this weekend at getting the Squeaker to realize that Mommy is not the only one with the "magic". So far, the screaming persists but it is followed by quiet eventually (even without Mommy).

Mini M&Ms
More mini m&ms have been consumed so far today than all of yesterday. The Little Man has the potty thing figured out -- at least he figured it out when not wearing anything. Also, no more #2 in potty... witholding until diaper goes on. I guess we can't have everything!

Guy stuff - as requested... and a daring mommy
First off... Guy stuff. Here is the info on the new car:
Honda Odyssey EX (2007)
Nav system, Sun roof, MP3 player, Sat radio, DVD player, rear back up assist, leather interior

The Little Man is without a diaper today, tomorrow and Sunday -- it is all or nothing. We'll see how he fares. If we are tired of cleaning up after him, we'll wait a while and try again. But, we figured, it is as good of a time as any, especially since our house isn't on the market (yet) so we don't have to keep it spotless for a while. :) Today has been great. He has consumed more mini M&Ms than actual food, I am pretty sure. But, we have put both #1 and #2 into the potty -- YEAH!!!
Honda Odyssey EX (2007)
- 244 hp, 3.5L SOHC 24 valve VTEC V6 engine (whatever that all means)
- 4 wheel disc brakes
- ABS
- front wheel drive
- dual power doors (that can be turned off so that curious little hands don't have too much fun in the back seat)
- lots of safety stuff, like airbags and security system
- 6 disc cd changer
- removeable seats in second row
- i need to count, but i think there are about 20 cup holders
- wheel locks were included since it is a honda
- and although it looks nothing like green, the color is sage green metallic
Nav system, Sun roof, MP3 player, Sat radio, DVD player, rear back up assist, leather interior

One step closer to soccer mom
I am officially a hypocrite in the midst of an identity crisis. :) No, it isn't that bad, but I had always sworn I would never own a minivan since the market has been flooded with SUVs of all shapes and sizes. And, I was scarred by a minivan that my family owned that I thought was hideous. I always thought that a SUV would be fine. That is until I drove a minivan... and looked at prices of larger SUVs... and succumbed to the peer pressure. (Almost) all my friends were doing it. Well, as of Tuesday, we are the proud owners of this beaut:
She does not yet have a name, but we are working on it. I think I might have to take some time and get used to driving such a big car first... and me feeling okay about passing on the Highlander to Daddy.
