Morning Fun
You know what is really fun? When your three year old wakes up on Saturday morning (not too early, thankfully) and says his jammies are wet. That isn't so bad, but really, they weren't just went... they were soaked, as were all his sheets, blankets, pillow, etc. From what he says, this is what happened:
"I woke up and needed a lot of water. So I drank and drank and drank my water. Then I got down off my bed to go potty. I took my diaper off and put it in the trash and went back to bed.
Um, yah. Good thinking, Little Man, but your timeline is a little off. See, he knows that if he drinks a lot, he will have to go pee. We tell him that all the time so that we can work on this nighttime potty training thing. Well, since he drank a lot, he figured he would go lots of pee and then he'd be good for the night. Slight problem was that this all occurred before midnight... so a diaperless bottom + lots of water + many hours left of sleep = new bed sheets. I guess there are good things to being an independent young man, and there are some drawbacks... :)

GaMommy Update
We have been loving having GaMommy around this week. Little Man is certain that she came just to play with him any chance she might get. Squeaker thought that she was a fine substitute the other morning when Mommy was able to escape for a few hours undetected. It has been mild weather the past couple days so we have been outside, inside, and running around town and all that with our GaMommy... what could be better??? I must say, too, that it appears that having that much excitement in our house seems to have done Little Man some good... he has been sleeping past 7:00*. That is a feat we have been trying to accomplish for a very long time! Who knows what today has in store, but it is bound to be full of, "GaMommy, let's play" or "GaMommy, do you want to play a game with me?"
Off to WAKE UP my sleeping babes as we have places to go and people to see! Oh, how I hate that I have to do this.
*Usually, LM is awake before 7, but stares at his clock (with the minutes blocked out) until the 6 changes to a 7. At the very moment that happens, we either hear a faint, "It changed to a 7! I am awake!" or the pitter patter of little feet climbing down the ladder of his bunk bed, and he stealthily walks into our room without waking Squeaker.

Musings...oops, uh Tuesday
Oopsy, I forgot that yesterday was Monday. Where was my head? Probably buried in chocolate. Anyway, speaking of food, here is the latest musing:
Me: Little Man, what do you want for breakfast? Cereal or eggs?
LM: Cereal
Me: Here you go.... cereal! (I'm eating eggs.)
LM: I want eggs, too.
Me: Eat your cereal and I will make you an egg.
LM: (scarfs down his food) I'm done, can I have an egg?
Me: Sure. (I make a scrambled egg)
LM: (stares at food blankly)
LM: I don't want an egg.
Me: Well, you asked for it so it'd be nice if you ate it.
LM: But, my eating motor is broken.
Me: What does that mean?
LM: It is pretend. It means I can't eat my food cuz the motor to eat it is broken.
Me: Too bad, find another way.
LM: Okay. (eats eggs)

Training Wheels
Training Wheels from farfromca on Vimeo.
Just put on the training wheels from Christmas... yes we are slacker parents. He loves them. This was his first attempt at biking. Since this video (last weekend - again, slacker parents taking so long to upload and share the video), he has gone one more time and seems to have a knack for it. Pretty soon he'll be jettin' down the sidewalk, parent running behind out of breath! :)

Happy Easter
The Easter bunny knew that mommy was 'modifying her food intake', and planned accordingly. He was SOOOO clever!!! The bunny you see is carved out of a hunk of reduced fat cheese and the chocolates are sugar free. Instead of the cheap plastic easter grass, the basket was filled with lettuce and other assorted veggies. Adorable! The boys had a great time hunting for eggs with one of their friends who came over to help. And, best of all, the Easter Bunny brought GaMommy to visit all the way from CA! Woo Hoo!
HAPPY EASTER - we hope yours was a bit warmer than ours. :)

Everyone knows
We, specifically Little Man, is so excited about Sunday. It is, in part, because the Easter Bunny will have come, but also because GaMommy is coming for a visit!!! We are all excited, but the word is spreading, and soon, all of the DC metro area will be as excited. Here is a short list of those who know GaMommy is coming:
* The child care workers at the gym
* The checker at Giant Foods
* The pediatrician **
* The checkout lady at the pediatrician's office
* Any friend of LM's that we may have spoken with in the past week
* Mommy... again, and again, and again, and again
I am sure there are more, and we'll be able to add even more after today. I am not sure which is more exciting, Easter candy or GaMommy... Actually, it is GaMommy... We are all excited, have a great flight and we'll see you in the morning!
** Yes, we were there again yesterday. Maybe Daddy should start writing over his paycheck there once a month? Anyway, all is well, Squeaker went for a follow up and his ears, although not back to 'normal', are better. We have a couple days left on antibiotics so we'll see what happens in the next week. We have our tube surgery on the 8th of April... that means 17 days. We can make it, I KNOW we can!!!
