Glasses

So, when they say that you get "1 year unconditional frame replacement", what exactly does that mean??? Like, we can get a new frame every week? When do they cut you off?

He can SEE

Check out this handsome devil:

Apparently he was having a hard time. He was not quite seeing in 3D as most of us do. Hence all the bumps and bruises and the black tooth. :) These glasses are supposed to help. We'll see, right. But in the meantime, he is just so cute!!!!! It is a good thing, too, because look what happened today:

He just can't help himself. He has a very strong urge to destroy everything in his path. Pretty soon, his hands will be duct taped together and strapped down. Can't wait to take these to the eye doctor. "Um, hi, we need his glasses adjusted". It sure is a good thing there is a 1 year unconditional replacement. I wonder how many they allow in that 1 year??? Seeing as how this is a WEEK!!! AUGH!

*Edit: This picture does not do justice to what he did. For more information, these are fully folded. The hinge is bent and the metal is practically snapped at the earpiece. He had to work really hard to do this. These are the super-bendy ones too. Like ones that you would get for a 3 year old. Yup, not this 3 year old!

Garage/Playroom

So, in an effort to provide my children (especially Squeaker) with some multisensory input, I created this playroom of sorts in our garage. It is an ongoing project... I still need to get some carpet padding or extra rugs to soften any falls... I would love to add in another lycra swing, or at least make the swings interchangeable. Oh, and I need some sort of container for a ball pit. Fun times. Oh, maybe I will stick the balls in the bottom of the climber? Hmmm... we'll see. Anyway, wanna come over and play?

Candlelight

Does folding clothes by candlelight make it any more glamorous? Perhaps. How about by a crackling fire? Definitely! And, since this is just about the only thing to do at night with no power, that is what we have going on at our house. I just hope the power comes back on soon so snotty, wheezy kids can get humidified. Just wait until I get in bed so I don't have to be any more productive than this, please.

Sick Day Complaints

Sick days are not fun, especially if you, yourself are sick. Of the five of us, 4 are sick. Snotty, coughing, congested, coughing, runny nose, did I mention coughing? Luckily we own a TV, are stocked with tissues, and there is a redbox about 5 minutes away. Aaaaand, it is like the only rainy week we'll have this year, of course... it is cold and windy too. So, no going outside. I was a bit unprepared for today, but set for tomorrow. I have a continuing education class to attend tomorrow (don't you want to sit next to me) and Daddy took the day off. If the night goes well, 2 kids are headed to school in the morning, leaving the wee one. That would be ideal. What is more likely to happen is that Daddy has all 3, all day. He is so excited at the prospect! So, movies in hand, a garage full of fun toys (have I shown this to you yet?) and a fridge full of pepsi, I think we are set! Wish him luck! :)

Key points on our weekend

Friday night - dinner out at favorite restaurant where uncle works. Little Lady was sooooo tired and finally fell asleep as our food arrived. Then, the waitstaff broke out into some traditional "wake the baby" song... something about eating food in Italy. Anyhow, it worked. But here is a shot just before the song and the dirty looks delivered in the singers' direction.

Work for me on Saturday was blissful compared to Daddy dragging the boys to get their second round of shots (one child requiring adult restraint). GaMommy had it easiest with a sleeping babe in a "cozy" (read messy) house.

Sunday was church, birrthday party, football party/movie, movie, sleep - followed by the possibility that I might have 2 kids allergic to their aunt's cute little "fox-dog" hybrid. (rough night) The saddest part is that Little Lady LOVES LOVES LOVES this dog... who must love her as he tried to french kiss her several times.

Monday is a day off and we are off to a slow start. Yummy breakfast, rainy day and I had my mind set on sewing. Alas, my machine is not cooperating so I am pretty sure not much sewing will be done. :( Perhaps a costco run is in order, that always cheers me up! :)

Sleep Training, Anyone???

I have been dreading even thinking about this, but I am now ready to tackle sleep training with Little Lady. She is waking up a couple times a night to eat. The first time she wakes up, she is famished... she likely doubles her weight in that one feeding. The other time(s), she just wants to be held or to be next to us in bed. So, after many months of this, I am just way to tired to think rationally and I am ready to start with the sleep training. Now, if I can only find my book!

Funny Girl

This picture cracks me up! She did this all on her own, and when it dropped, she frantically searched for it to plug herself up again!

You mean I have to vacuum regularly?

Man, that is just one more thing to put on my to do list. Maybe I need to hire a cleaning lady??? Naw, we'll just hope that dear Little lady just won't be putting found things in her mouth... Oh, shoot, she is 6 months old and that is what 6 month olds do. So, vacuum it is. I am quickly training Little Man how to do it. And, currently he enjoys it and he is just oh so thorough - as any 5 year old would be, right?!

Also on my to do list, everything else cleaning related. :) I have found having 3 kids is fun, yet exhausting. But, the biggest surprise is that it is very, very difficult to get things done. This is hard for me. I hope I can figure it out soon - you know, before mushrooms start growing in our bathroom*.

*Remind me sometime to tell you this story.

Pitiful

This is pitiful. I am a terrible blogger. Actually, I am not so sure I am considered a "blogger" per-say, perhaps just one who occasionally likes to post lame comments on a blog. And, apparently, by occasionally, I mean rarely. :( I just realized I could not remember the last time I posted anything on this blog-o-mine. That is not good. Just my way of starting 2010 with a bang, right!!!!

Let us begin again, shall we?

Hey, Happy Twenty-Ten!!! It is day ten and I am pretty sure it is going to take at least 200 more days until I remember to write 2010. I have been remembering after I write the second zero in 200...oh, shoot. Then, I have to go back and erase, cross out or just try to squeeze that "1" between the "0's". :)

So, New Years resolutions not already broken:
1. Go on more dates -- with husband, of course. Check.
2. Exercise more. Definitely not exercising LESS... so far, so good.
3. Yell at kids less. Pretty sure I am 50/50 on that one. Some days I am much better... others, not so much. Haven't given up hope. And, I am thinking a bit more in the sleep department will help this one. Speaking of which:
4. Go to bed earlier. Aside from a late night date fiasco (see resolution #1), I have been doing pretty good. Trying to be in bed before 10. And, I probably would have been in bed tonight before 10 if I hadn't remembered my slackerness on this blog.
5. Learn that there are some words that you just can't make up... i.e., "slackerness"

Here is to a new year and a clean slate!
