I love allergies. I especially love that my children appear to have inherited them... one in particular (LM). Anyway, give us a weekend of fun in the sun... and pollen... and what happens??? Wheezing, coughing, red, watery eyes, and snot... oh, the snot....
Luckily, Little Man isn't sleeping at school anyway, and is not contagious... so off he goes to school, like a good little preschooler. Squeaker seems to do okay with his snot control, so he isn't affected as much. But, the teething has to stop, his face looks like a strawberry with all the drool!

Monday Musings
LM: Why are people coming to look in our house? Do they want to play with my toys? Like my shake and go racecar, or my remote control car, or something?
Me: No, they are looking to see if they want to buy our house from us. We will keep all the toys.
LM: Oh, and if they buy it, we will move to another house.
Me: Right. So, what should we have in our new house? What will it be like?
LM: Maybe it will have some of our toys?
Me: Oh, for sure. What else would we need in our house? I mean, like a kitchen, or other rooms?
LM: Yah, a kitchen for sure, in case we get a little bit hungry. And a room for you and daddy, a room for Squeaker and a room for me.
Me: Is that it? No other rooms?
LM: Maybe a potty. We need a potty for everyone.
Me: Like 2, maybe?
LM: No, like 20. One for me, for you, for our friends like Lily and Gavin, and then, if you go potty, and it breaks, you just go to the next one. Then, if that one breaks, you go to the next one, and then the next one until they are all used. And, if they all get busted, you get more potties.
Me: That will be one big house.
LM: Yah, with a basement!
Me: No, they are looking to see if they want to buy our house from us. We will keep all the toys.

Bad Mommy Blogger
So completely out of it... not able to put coherent thoughts together for a post. So, here is a bullet list:
* Little Man's last day at preschool was today. There was an interesting version of a 'sing-a-long', where it was the music teacher singing along to the music and the kids staring at her blankly, with parents at the ready for the perfect picture moment.
* Squeaker is working on 4 teeth at the moment, with 2 more close behind.
* Both boys have been waking up between 5:45 and 6:15 for a week now.
* House traffic has been s....l....o....w....
* The weather was nice a couple weeks ago, we were excited. Then a week of rain, now a week of cold. Tomorrow is supposed to be AWESOME...
* I work tomorrow. (unable to enjoy aforementioned weather). :(
* We have no plans for the weekend, other than to all sleep, sleep, sleep... let's hope the boys cooperate!

Monday Musings
What? It is still Monday, isn't it??? Come on, I know I am just squeakin' by, but I worked today and played this weekend... no time for blogging. So, this weeks choice is from Squeaker:
Little Man goes potty.
Squeaker: Yeah, Ka Ka
Little Man gets his shoes on.
Squeaker: Yeah, Ka Ka
Little Man eats a bite of his dinner.
Squeaker: Yeah, Ka Ka
Little Man plays with a toy.
Squeaker: Yeah, Ka Ka
Little Man breathes.
Squeaker: Yeah, Ka Ka
Okay, okay... so I made the last one up, but boy is this child so proud of his older brother. Do you think we give a little praise at our house??? I guess it is better than the alternative (which we do plenty of, I am sure, he just hasn't picked up on it yet)

1 for 2
We went 1 for 2 in the sleep category this afternoon. Unfortunately both boys needed a nap... and it is becoming alarmingly more apparent as the day wears on. Little Man is pretty saucy when he is tired. Squeaker, our napper of the day, took a while to get to sleep (he was overtired) but once asleep, he was down... for like an hour and a half. I went in at that time and told him he needed to sleep longer, not thinking it would actually work. Uh, I was wrong... another couple hours later and he is finally up. It was so good for him, unfortunately, we now have one well-rested child and one who could go down for the night just as soon as I can get him fed and bathed. :) Fun Saturday, right? Maybe Squeaker and I will have a date tonight. hee hee.

Boo Boo
So, this past weekend Squeaker and I had just come home from running errands. I had to go pee, which I told him as we came in the door. So, he ran off to the bathroom and stuck his hand in the toilet. Why... well, because he is 1 and that is just a fun thing to do. Anyway, so, I told him it was yucky and washed his hands. As we were washing his hands, he leaned over too far and bumped his lip on the sink. It wasn't hard and he didn't even cry. So, I was then able to go potty, finally. It was awfully quiet as I tried to pee as fast as I could... as quiet in our house is not always a good thing. I walked out to the living room, and he comes around the corner from the kitchen repeating, "boo boo guy" and the fridge was wide open.
This is a sweet and sour packet, by the way. He has an infatuation with boo boo bunnies/ice packs. So, this was the closest he could find in a pinch. And, apparently, he is too used to having the boo boo guy on his head, eh. :)

Monday Musings
LM: Sometimes I run away from you. I don't know why I do it. Oh, yes I do. It is because I have lots of practice running. I like to run everywhere. I run on the sidewalk. I run in the stores. I run a lot.
Me: Yes, yes you do.
(he doesn't run away often, really... that is Squeaker's job these days... but apparently it was on his mind)
----
Squeaker wanted to add a musing as well:
Daddy came in to the bathroom and Squeaker was standing at the potty with his shirt pulled up and hips thrust forward toward the toilet.... "Pee pee," Squeaker chants. :) So, Daddy took his diaper off to see if he would actually go. He wanted to sit, and even helped to point certain things in a downward direction, just like he has seen his brother do. He sat for a while, and just as Daddy was going to take him off... he peed! How cute is that!!!! :)

Starving Child
Not that you could tell from any pictures, but apparently I am starving my child. Poor Squeaker -- So sad, how DARE we make some delicious blueberry pancakes! How D A R E we!!! He has never been one to eat a big breakfast, and sometimes he would prefer not to eat at all. Lunchtime, when we are home, is okay, as long as it is early enough so he isn't tired. He is so tired when we come home from daycare, he barely eats dinner. So... lately, we have been soooooooo hungry. Squeaker wakes up at all hours (5:30 the other morning, aughhh) asking for a bottle or to "peeessss... eeeeet" (please eat). Poor thing! What can I do? He is exhausted, hungry and we are still trying to figure it out. We are having a hard time getting him to bed early enough. We come home from daycare around 5:45, eat dinner, get jammies on, bottle and bed. He is usually in bed by 7. We aim for 6:30. No time for bath, no time for playing. Just down to business. Then, like I said, there is not much interest in breakfast - unless he has hit his breaking point and is starving, then he will eat a handful of cereal and a piece of fruit - just enough to take the edge off. I am not sure how much he actually eats at daycare. They serve snacks and breakfast and lunch. So, how do I figure this one out??? We have tried frequent snacks, bigger meals, adding bottles, taking away bottles. But, so far, no luck. The only other thing we want to try, but have been unsuccessful with is more sleep. He definitely needs it, but can't seem to get it on his current schedule. So, this weekend, we are going to feed him protein shakes, and carbo load him every night before bed... kidding... for now...

Hi Ho, Hi Ho...
So, started back at work on Monday. Boo Woo Hoo. I am currently having mixed feelings about it. I am so glad I decided to get back into it... I love it. It is fun, engaging, and the children and their families are wonderful. BUT, I am sad to give up three days of parenting to someone else. Squeaker does love his class. Little Man will love his eventually. ;) It just makes me sad that I am no longer able to keep them home with me everyday, in our own sheltered little world.
On a side note. Keep those happy home-selling thoughts coming. I hear that people are out buying up homes these days... I am sure with some happy thoughts sent our way, some of those people will come our way. We are coming close to our 2 year anniversary (minus 6 mos when Squeaker came around)... 2 years I/we have kept this house clean... 2 years! I think we deserve some sort of medal... seriously.

Monday Musings
Random musings out of context:
LM: We used our brains to help us with our golfing.
LM: Tyrannosaurus Rex liked to eat pizza, I think.
And, a squishy one:
LM: I was whiney today (at daycare) because I missed you. After lunch and nap and soccer, you were there to get me. Now I am back where I belong.
Me: Where do you belong?
LM: With Mommy and Daddy and Little Bay-Bay (one of his many pet names for his brother)

Gorgeous
Yes, I am talking about you... but also, the weather. Today was as perfect of a day as we could have hoped for. I think it was more perfect because the weather people said that it was supposed to rain all morning and they were WRONG. It was just beautiful all day. We spent the morning outside watching the neighbor mow his lawn and eating popsicles, then in the backyard watering flowers and bikes with the squirt bottle. The boys got to eat lunch outside, too. After naptime, we headed to a local lake and took the boys on a bike ride. Little Man cruised along on his two wheeler (with training wheels) and Squeaker was (mostly pushed) on the trike. It was in the mid 70s and breezy - very nice and sunny. It was perfect. After bikes, Daddy had brought along the remote control race cars, so we drove them around the empty parking lot for a while before heading off to dinner. We decided to go a restaurant at the last minute, and sat outside to enjoy the weather a bit longer. The boys ate more than I have seen them eat in on sitting... ever. Squeaker ate his entire kid portion of mac and cheese and applesauce before Little Man had finished his applesauce. Apparently we starve our children. They both finished their dinners, at bread and french fries, then had dessert. Unbelievable! I hope they sleep for a long long long time!!!!!
By the way, the one thing that is not so perfect... teething. Squeaker must have asked for "Eyesh" (ice) like 5 billion times during our meal. I am sure it felt great on his molars coming through.
Now, if you wouldn't mind... cross your fingers that we are "mishap" free at daycare today. I am not going to elaborate except to say, I am tired of washing clothes and cleaning rugs (yes, it has carried over to home). ;)

Reality Check
Little Man informed me yesterday that I sure did have a lot of grey hair on my head now. Oh my, yes, my astute three year old, I sure do, but you are going to have get used to it.
